Soundproof Rock Wool

Dense mineral-fiber boards for sound-control, fire-safe and thermal wall, ceiling, facade and industrial assemblies.

Dense mineral fiber

Build quieter, safer and better-insulated spaces.

Its open fibrous structure dissipates sound energy inside cavities while the dense, stable board adds thermal resistance and supports fire-safe construction. For sound isolation, rock wool should be combined with framing, mass layers, separated construction and carefully sealed joints.

System approach

Performance comes from the complete assembly.

Rock wool absorbs energy within the cavity; the surrounding construction blocks transmission. Select every layer together for the required project result.

  1. 01
Framing or substrateCreates the cavity and provides secure support for the board.
  2. 02
Rock wool infillFits closely between members without gaps or compression.
  3. 03
Mass facing or claddingGypsum board, cement board or facade layers provide the sound-blocking surface.
  4. 04
Sealed perimeterJoints, penetrations and interfaces are detailed to limit acoustic leakage.
System design

Build the board into a complete isolation assembly

Final acoustic performance depends on framing, cavity infill, resilient connections, perimeter sealing and the number of lining layers.

Wall isolation system
01

Wall isolation system

Combine the composite board with a separated stud frame, acoustic infill and resilient connections to reduce direct airborne transmission and structural bridging.

Floating floor system
02

Floating floor system

Use above a resilient underlayer within layered floor constructions to control impact noise and improve separation between occupied floors.

Suspended ceiling system
03

Suspended ceiling system

Integrate with resilient hangers, a metal ceiling frame and absorptive infill for cinemas, KTV rooms and other noise-sensitive interiors.

Performance range

Class A fire performance across five density choices.

Choose density and thickness around the required rigidity, loading, cavity depth and tested wall, ceiling or envelope system.

AFire-performance class
2Standard thickness options
5Density grades from 60K to 140K
Density selection

Five grades for different structures.

Higher density can add rigidity and fiber mass, but the correct grade depends on the tested assembly and fixing method—not density alone.

0160K

Lightweight cavity infill

For broad wall and ceiling areas where easy handling and reliable cavity coverage matter.

0280K

Balanced acoustic grade

A practical balance of board rigidity, absorption and installation weight.

03100K

Robust partition grade

Added fiber mass for demanding partitions, ceilings and equipment-room linings.

04120K

High-density construction

Firm boards for facade, industrial and mechanically retained build-ups.

05140K

Specialist heavy grade

Maximum density in the range for selected high-load acoustic and thermal assemblies.

Thickness options

Choose 50 mm or 100 mm.

Match the board depth to the cavity and performance target. Fit boards tightly with staggered joints where the system requires multiple layers.

0150mm

Standard infill for partitions, ceilings, service rooms and space-limited cavities.

02100mm

Deeper insulation for thicker walls, facade systems and demanding thermal or acoustic build-ups.

Product specification

A clear range for project selection.

Confirm the board grade alongside the complete wall, ceiling, facade or equipment-insulation system.
